Quick Inshore Report
The snook bite is good at sunrise. The snook shown is one of 3 that hit a chug bug at daybreak. This one jumped like a tarpon 4 times. We caught a few other species and then there is the big one that got away. Cut the line on an oyster bar dang it! When the bite turned off, we headed to the inlet to find the mangrove snapper feeding on the first of the outgoing. We picked up some threadfins herrings with the castnet on the way there and the snapper just couldn't resist them. We kept some for dinner. As the current increased we decided to head down the beach a bit. The ocean was like a lake. We hooked a huge spanish mackeral on a Got-Cha plug that screamed drag so fast we had to run after it with the boat. It was a nice half day on the water.
