Hurricane Mathew
Hurricane Mathew put a damper on our fishing for a bit. Thank goodness the eye missed us by 50 miles or so and only produced “minor” damage in the Sebastian area. Downed trees, damaged docks/fences/screens and days without power were widespread. Still, we feel lucky and shudder at how bad it could have been. The waters rose about 4 feet above the high tide lines in the rivers. Here’s a pic of my community dock on the Sebastian River at daybreak after the eye had passed. Luckily the water receeded and left no apparent damage. Others weren’t so lucky. I look forward to getting back to normal and catching some fish.
